Last chance: Apply for free professional development
This is a final reminder that the Joint Career Development Program (JCDP) application form for 2020-21 will be closing on Monday, August 3. This is your chance to apply for more than 550 spots of free, high-quality professional development. All training will take place live online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore all CT-FINs across the country can benefit from the program in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
In case you were unaware, the JCDP is a $1M annual fund of free professional development for CT-FINs secured in the 2016 FI collective agreement. It is jointly managed between ACFO-ACAF and the Office of the Comptroller General. Originally launched in September 2017, the program has seen thousands of financial officers from more than 60 departments receive training. In 2019-20, more than 2,000 FIs benefitted from the program.
Forms of training this year include:
- Power BI courses;
- Leadership training;
- uOttawa IFSD courses led by former PBO Kevin Page;
- Effective communications training;
- LinkedIn learning licenses;
- Rosetta stone licenses;
- One-on-one language training;
- CPA Canada Public Sector Conference passes;
- And more.
All training recipients are selected by random draw, and with this year’s large range of programming of 550+ spots, applicants will have a very high chance of receiving training.
