Whether you’re sitting down to prepare your 2020-21 learning plan or you’re looking to complete your 2019-20 plan with some last-minute training, we know professional development is on a lot of people’s minds this time of year. Here’s a reminder of where ACFO-ACAF can help and a few dates to mark on your calendars so you don’t miss out.

The Comptrollership Training Centre

As you likely know, ACFO-ACAF launched the Comptrollership Training Centre in 2019 to extend our professional development offerings to our membership. As a recognized training provider by the Office of the Comptroller General, and as the voice of the comptrollership community, we are well placed to provide training and development that will help you advance your career.

The full 2020-21 CTC catalogue will be published in the spring but we’ve got a handful of courses left for those looking to book training before the end of the fiscal year:

ACFO-ACAF Spring Tune Up

Our flagship event, the ACFO-ACAF Spring Tune Up, is a can’t-miss event for the comptrollership community. This year’s event is taking place June 9 at the EY Centre in Ottawa and will feature inspiring and informative presentations from speakers like:

  • journalist Herby Moreau
  • Hadiya Roderique, named one of Canada’s 25 most influential lawyers;
  • acclaimed speaker Kelly McDonald;
  • Comptroller General of Canada Roch Huppé
  • And many more!

This event is free for all ACFO-ACAF members and registration opens February 4. Learn more at https://www.acfo-acaf.com/professional-development/spring-tune/.

Spring Tune Up Plus

Building on the success of the annual Spring Tune Up, ACFO-ACAF is also pleased to announce the first ever Spring Tune Up Plus on June 10. This premium event will feature keynote presentations from:

  • the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney;
  • Global Affairs of Canada CFO Arun Thangaraj;
  • inspiring speaker Spencer West;

All ACFO-ACAF members get advance access to tickets for this event and benefit from reduced pricing. Registration will also open for this event on February 4. More information is available at https://www.acfo-acaf.com/professional-development/spring-tune/

The Joint Career Development Program

With the successful ratification of the new FI Collective Agreement, we’re pleased to announce that funding has been secured to continue offering the Joint Career Development Program (JCDP). This program, co-managed by ACFO-ACAF and the Office of the Comptroller General (OCG), delivers high-quality training and development events and programs exclusively for ACFO-ACAF’s public service FI members at no cost.

Planning is under way for this year’s JCDP. Keep your eyes peeled for more information with applications opening later this spring.
