A recent report from the Canadian Press suggests the Canadian government is considering ratifying ILO Convention 98, which protects collective bargaining rights. Canada is among only a handful of countries that hasn’t ratified the convention.
ACFO has been part of the push for its ratification, most recently in a letter sent to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in May. We strongly encourage the government to move forward on this important issue and once again demonstrate its commitment to labour rights in Canada and around the world.
