The nomination deadline for the Awards of Excellence in Public Sector Financial Management is quickly approaching.
Presented annually by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, the program honours the exceptional work of federal public servants who excel in the field of financial management.
The Association of Canadian Financial Officers encourages members to nominate deserving individuals and teams.
“This program recognizes people who set the bar for excellence in our field,” says ACFO President Milt Isaacs, a member of the awards Selection Committee. “It also raises the public profile of the important work that is being done by our members and the value of responsible public financial management.”
Award categories include Innovation, Financial Leadership (CFO) and Lifetime Achievement.
- Nominees for the Innovation award must have made a significant contribution to financial management within the Government of Canada.
- Nominees for the Financial Leadership (CFO) award should exhibit excellence and/or leadership in accounting, management and strategy within the Government of Canada.
- The Lifetime Achievement award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to financial management throughout his or her career. The award recognizes the contribution public sector employees make to the Government of Canada and to the financial management profession as a whole.
Award nominations can be submitted by any person within the Government of Canada, as well as the general public. Nominees are not required to hold a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. The nomination period closes February 19, 2016.
