ACFO’s Funding Democracy summit: Updates and answers
ACFO’s Funding Democracy summit is a mere two months away. There are still some seats reserved for ACFO members so if you haven’t claimed your free ticket yet please do so soon.
We’ve had a number of questions from the FI Community about this event; questions we’ve answered below. We hope to see a record crowd of financial officers at this event so hopefully these answers will help you make your plans for attendance.
Does this event replace the annual Spring Tune Up event?
Yes, for this year only we’ve replaced our half-day Spring Tune Up PD event with a two-day international summit. Just like Spring Tune Up, though, this event will provide professional development and networking opportunities for the FI Community.
Can members outside of the National Capital Region take part?
Yes, we’re offering a free webcast for ACFO members.
Can I get PD credits for my CPA designation?
We have set up a program that we believe is of benefit to the career and professional development of the FI Community. Professional development credits for CPA members are managed by the provincial bodies on a case-by-case basis but we believe all FIs should be able to claim this event for credit. We will provide confirmation of attendance to those FIs who attend to support their attempts to get credit.
My department is refusing to give me leave to attend, what can I do?
If you are having trouble getting leave to attend this event, please contact labourrelations@acfo-acaf.com. We are having ongoing discussions with departments about this issue.
If you have any other questions about the summit, please feel free to get in touch. We hope to see you there.
