ACFO grows its network by entering strategic partnership with IFPTE
As part of our effort to grow our network of partnerships and find like-minded groups around the world to collaborate and work with, ACFO representatives met with leaders from the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) to sign a cooperation agreement in Washington, DC, on September 15.
The agreement stipulates that ACFO and IFPTE will work together on an informal and/or a project-based basis on a number of issues, including:
- encouraging employer and state investment into the education and continuing professional development of the North American workforce;
- standing up for quality public services, equitable taxation, greater income equality and income security before and after retirement;
- advocating for improved anti-corruption and whistleblower protection legislation;
- defending the rights of North American workers from offshoring and international trade agreements that serve to undermine democratic rights in favour of the economic interests of multinational corporations.
IFPTE represents 85,000 women and men in professional, technical, administrative and associated occupations in the United States and Canada.
