As you may know, a new tentative agreement was reached between National Joint Council (NJC) bargaining agents and Treasury Board on updates to the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) back in August 2022, including improvements to vision care, paramedical practitioners, and more. The long-awaited improvements will take effect on July 1, 2023.
More details have now been made available by Treasury Board on the improvements to the plan, which can be found here.
For any questions about these changes, or more information on how to enroll, please visit the new plan provider, Canada Life, web page here.
Enroll by June 30
You should have received an invitation to complete positive enrolment from Canada Life, either by email or mail. If not, check your junk email folder. If you cannot find your invitation, call the Canada Life PSHCP Member Contact Centre at 1-855-415-4414 as soon as possible.
Positive enrolment and consent to have claims processed by Canada Life must be completed before July 1, 2023, to ensure there are no disruptions in processing and reimbursing your or your covered dependents’ claims. This is particularly important as you will not be able to complete positive enrolment and send in a claim on the same day. Therefore, complete enrolment by June 30 to avoid being out of pocket for health claim expenses as of July 1.
Should you have any questions, more information on the transition to Canada Life can be found here.
