ACFO President Dany Richard and General Counsel Scott Chamberlain appeared before the House of Commons Finance Committee September 27, asking the government to ensure the FI Community plays a key role in the ongoing departmental reviews.
Announced as part of Budget 2017, the reviews are currently under way at Health Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency and the Canada School of Public Service, with plans to conduct additional reviews in other departments in future years.
“The goal is to ensure spending is aligned with priorities and programs that deliver results for Canadians,” Richard told the committee. “We understand public finance. We understand value for money. We understand the unique challenges and opportunities of working in the public sector.”
