As part of the Association’s second annual holiday volunteer day for staff, ACFO national employees spent part of the day on December 22 helping to prepare this week’s Christmas dinner, as well as serving lunch, at the Shepherd’s of Good Hope.
The Shepherds of Good Hope offer various programs from Emergency Men’s Shelter and Women’s Hope Outreach to Managed Alcohol Program and Street Community Outreach Team, to supportive living programs including a Soup Kitchen, Grocery and Clothing Programs and Evening Drop-In. These programs are in part to aide homeless men and women in Ottawa.
On December 21, ACFO Executive Director, Dan Larose, presented a donation of $2,000 to the Hospice at May Court on behalf of the members, Board of Directors and Staff of the Association. May Court provides programs and services to people living with a terminal illness, their families and friends which includes Home Support, Day Hospice, Family Support and Residence.
The involvement of the ACFO national staff is a part of the Association’s growing efforts to contribute more to the community at large. We know many members of the FI Community are also active in their communities and we are proud to have the opportunity to follow their lead and contribute to the greater good on their behalf.
