ACFO President offers condolences to family of Michèle Demers
It was with deep sadness that we at ACFO learned about the passing of Michèle Demers, President of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC).
I consider myself fortunate to have known Michèle on a personal and a professional basis. Her passion and commitment to her membership and to the public service as a whole will stand as her legacy for decades to come. The ferocity with which she fought for the rights of public servants was matched only by her warmth and compassion as a person.
While her passing is a severe loss to the public service community, it must pale in comparison to the sense of loss that her closest friends and family are feeling. On behalf of the entire FI Community and everyone at the Association of Canadian Financial Officers, I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences.
Michèle was a tremendous person; she will truly be missed.
