Another successful ACFO Rick McCallum Memorial golf tournament raises $10,000 for charity
Close to 90 enthusiastic golfers were treated to beautiful weather, a fabulous day of golf, and wonderful hospitality from Emerald Links Golf & Country Club at ACFO’s 15th annual Rick McCallum Memorial golf tournament on May 27th.
This year’s event once again delivered a fun time for all in attendance. Participants enjoyed the festivities that included golf, dinner, a silent auction, a mix of traditional and not-so-traditional skill competitions, and tons of raffle prizes.
Thanks to the generous contributions of players, sponsors, and prize donors, the event raised over $10,000 to support the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and the Alumni. The Heart Institute Foundation’s President Tom Hewitt and Alumni Past President Dennis Doucette were on hand to receive the donation from ACFO President Milt Isaacs.
ACFO is proud to have raised over $164,000 for the Heart Institute in the 15 year history of the charity golf tournament. The tournament honours the memory of Rick McCallum, an original member and former director of ACFO who passed away after living with heart disease.
