With Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) engaging in Workforce Adjustments (WFAs), the department has launched an Alternation Platform to facilitate exchanges between impacted IRCC employees and non-affected employees willing to leave the core public administration (CPA) with a Transition Support Measure and/or an Education Allowance.

Any indeterminate employee whose substantive position is within the CPA and is willing to leave via alternation, including IRCC employees, and whose position is not impacted by WFA is invited to create a profile in this new system. You do not have to be an IRCC employee to create a profile.

For more information, and to create a profile, visit this link.

ACFO-ACAF Alternation Network

At ACFO-ACAF, we have also established an Alternation Network of our own, listing non-affected, surplus, and opting employees interested in alternating.

This resource is available exclusively to ACFO-ACAF members on the my.ACFO-ACAF portal homepage. If you don’t have a my.ACFO-ACAF account, learn how to register here.

If you are a member of the CT Community who is an opting employee, surplus employee who selected Option 6.4.1(a), or a non-affected employee, and you are interested in alternating, please contact Ben Streatch at bstreatch@acfo-acaf.com to add your name to the Alternation Network along with the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Work Email Address
  • Department
  • CT Level and Classification
  • Linguistic Profile
  • Security Clearance
  • Work Location
  • Date Available to Alternate
