In follow up to the March 19, 2012 pre-hearing case conference regarding the Association’s pay equity complaint, ACFO reconvened with Treasury Board and the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PLSRB) adjudicator on November 19, 2012 to set a timetable for the next steps in the legal proceedings.
Having sought clarification on the disclosure of work descriptions and other documents multiple times since the last case conference in March, Treasury Board confirmed at this meeting that it intends to complete its disclosure of all documents before the end of the 2012 calendar year, and will keep the PSLRB informed of its progress.
Once all the necessary documentation has been received, a wage-gap analysis comparing FI-01 and FI-02 work descriptions to those of male comparator groups will be conducted. The parties agreed that this expert analysis should take approximately six months to complete. After the analysis has been conducted, we will be in position to set a timetable to draft and exchange expert reports and discuss timelines for the next phase in proceedings.
Given the need to sort through various disclosure issues over this year, the parties agreed that hearings will not begin before 2014 in order to provide adequate time to analyze the data and further prepare for the pay equity case.
We will continue to update you on further developments as they arise in this matter. In the meantime, please contact Labour Relations Advisor Vivian Gates at 613-728-0695 (ex. 226) or 1-877-728-0695, or email vgates@acfo-acaf.com if you have any questions in relation to this case.
