On January 20, employees at Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) were informed about the upcoming workforce adjustment (WFA) measures in their department. With additional departments expected to follow suit in the coming months, ACFO-ACAF’s goal in that time is to educate our members on the WFA process, providing you with the necessary information to navigate what may be a stressful time for the CT Community.

As part of our WFA education, we invite you to attend a virtual town hall hosted by ACFO-ACAF Labour Relations Advisor (LRA), Nicolas Brunette-D’Souza, on MS Teams on Thursday, February 6, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm ET in English or from 12:00 – 1:00 pm ET in French. Nicolas was instrumental in our WFA efforts during the Deficit Reduction Action Plan (DRAP) from 2011-2015.

During the session, Nicolas will:

  • Explain what WFA means;
  • Demystify the various WFA options for impacted employees; and
  • Outline how ACFO-ACAF can help.

The session will conclude with a Q&A period, where attendees will have the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about WFA via Slido.

Members who wish to learn more about workforce adjustment prior to participating in the session are encouraged to visit the WFA hub on our website, which includes important resources and our updated Alternation Network list.
